Fourteenth Leg of Trip
As I said last post, we knew we were in the wrong place when we were in Las Vegas.  Our first clue was when we were checking in we were asked if we would like to upgrade to a room with a coffee pot and microwave.  When did these become not standard in rooms?
So, we left shortly after four in the morning.
The desert is not so bad that early in the morning.  It is actually quite beautiful!

This funny little store we came upon let us know about some strange occurrences!
Turns out we were about 60 miles outside of Edwards Air Force base.

This was our welcoming committee for California!  Don't they look excited to see us.  Cows have free range of the California Highways.  We, the vehicles, are to watch out for them!

We have found the west, and its gasoline prices.

Roger went to the Laws Railroad Museum while we were in Bishop, California.

This, though fuzzy, is a picture of a picture of the San Francisco bay before they built the Golden Gate bridge.  It is so cool to imagine life before and all!

We left Bishop on the way to Mammoth Lakes.  I got a bit of food poisoning. Don't remember much about the way there.

Roger was able to do some fishing while we were in Mammoth Lakes.  He said it was quite beautiful here.  We will have to come back so I can find out for myself!

I would highly recommend staying at Alpenhof Lodge should you come to Mammoth Lakes.  Aaron took really good care of me and the room was incredible and quite comfortable.

After leaving Mammoth Lakes, we headed towards Yosemite National Park.  On our way, we discovered a preserved Ghost town.  The town is just as it was left.  It was a gold rush town.

We so enjoyed our time at Bodie.  It truly gave us a taste of the past.

Since we decided to see Bodie, we ended up taking the Sonora Pass instead of taking the Tioga Pass that goes through Yosemite.  We feel like Accidental Tourists who have found treasures that God has laid down just for us and directed our movements.  What a blessing.  Our pictures will never give you the true artistry, but here it goes!

Before we went on the pass, we stopped for some tea and coffee here where we were introduced to Elsie, the ghost.  While we were in the shop, the shopkeeper just started saying, "Oh, she can be so loud."  We had just heard some banging in the back.  We just nodded our heads.  She continued saying, "That's Elsie, our ghost."  We just looked at each other.

On to the Sonora Pass

We marvel about the snow plows having to follow these poles to stay on the road.

God is good!  Have a blessed day!
