The Grand Tetons and Yellowstone

Twenty-First Leg of Trip:
      The Grand Tetons and
           Yellowstone National Parks

Buffalo in the pasture

We took the Firehole Canyon Drive on the suggestion of our cousin, Elizabeth.  We were quite grateful for all her suggestions.

Hot Spring

We did not get to Yellowstone until the afternoon, so we only saw a small corner.  We left to tackle it another day.
We decided to see the Grand Tetons the next day.

On our way to the Tetons we saw Mr and Mrs Moose!

Mrs Moose kept looking at Mr Moose like, "Honey, aren't yu going to do something about that crazy camera man who is taking my picture?"

God's glory was in evidence everywhere we looked.
Awesome!

We took an unexpected turn into a road and found this beauty, who was rather unmoved by our arrival.

We then noticed a couple down in the pasture, you have to look closely to see both.

The first one decided to pose for us!
Then we went down another road that sounded interesting and discovered this fellow!

We also came upon this fellow later in the day!

                                Isn't this a precious one?

Some Buffalo in the meadow

When we got back from the Tetons, Roger took a hike up a mountain while I rested.  I feel so blessed that I have such an understanding partner in life that understands me and can be my feet and eyes when I can go no longer!

                                   He saw another deer!

He took a picture of our lodgings from his viewpoint

Our place is looking quite small!

The next morning we woke up very
early to see the rest of Yellowstone.

We got to see this lovely beast!

We saw this Buffalo alone near the water.

White Pelican
When do you let a Buffalo cross the road?...
Whenever he wants!!

                                         Mud Volcanos

After the Mud Volcanos we came upon a herd of buffalo

Then we went to the "Grand Canyon" of Yellowstone

                                   A beautiful waterfall

We have seen a lot of unusual rock formations, but this one was especially a fun one of which to observe.

These cute little chipmunks were all over the place

We ventured down a road less traveled

and were rewarded with a sighting of a
momma bear and her cubs, behind the crooked tree

                                  More beautiful waterfalls
                              Mammoth Hot Springs
The elk seemed to enjoy the grassy center of
                                  Mammoth Hot Springs

Midway Geiser with the Grand Prismatic Spring

                                 And then...Old Faithful

Good Night Old Faithful, Good-bye Yellowstone!
              Good-bye Grand Tetons
                            Blessings!
