Home Sweet Home

The Last Leg of our Trip: Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Home!

We travelled through Indiana to get to Kentucky.  More and more fields of corn and soybeans.
Funny thing is that the whole state if Indiana is not in our GPS.  Good thing we know how to read a map!

We stayed in Owensboro, KY, which is also not in our GPS.  Basically everywhere else we intended to go was not in our GPS.  In our glove compartment it goes.  Did not get a picture of KY state sign.
We made our way to Mammoth Cave State Park where we intended to stay for a few nights.  We were too early for check in so we toured around the park.  We found this church established in the 1800's.

This outhouse was upgraded with a porcelain seat!

We were unable to stay at the park, therefore we found a hotel in Bowling Green.  When we got home the next day, we were greeted by our daughter and her dogs with a wonderful welcome.  We are so blessed!

We hope you have enjoyed our journey.
Blessings to all.

                                                   Scenes from the Arch

                                     Inside the Arch
We liked how the arch made shadow on the city.

                                 The Cardinals Stadium

                              The Mighty Mississippi!

We walked the mall of St Louis

                                                            Union Station

Back at our hotel from the roof

Davenports in Davenport

Twenty-third leg of trip: Davenport, IA and visiting the cousins!

As we left the Badlands, we spotted this sod house.

The sunflowers were plentiful out here

Here is the Missouri River, the one Lewis and Clark
                             used to explore the West.

Iowa has a lot, and I mean a lot of fields of corn and soybean

We entered Nebraska to go to Omaha.

Omaha was a must for us for two reasons: growing up watching the Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom and..."Omaha, Omaha" from my favorite quarterback, Peyton Manning!
....and more fields of corn and soybean.

The car with clout that gave us a lovely escort through Iowa.  Cars moved aside for this car and we followed right behind!
And yes, we had to stay in Davenport, IA!
... but, no, we did not stay there!
                                     It's a lovely town.

Davenport has a lovely riverfront on the Mississippi

We enter Illinois on our way to visit Jessica and Bob, our cousins!

Left to right: Roger, Me, Bob, & Jessica
Of course, the picture is missing Spencer, Davis and Lilly, the precious kitties!  Always to wonderful to be with family!

Next we are off to St Louis, Missouri.
Blessings to all!
